This is too, too funny.
P. Z. Myers of Pharyngula tried to attend a free showing of the intelligent design creationist film Expelled today (a film in which he appears btw) but was apparently recognized by the producers of the film who had security ask him to leave under threat of arrest! The irony of creationists expelling a scientist from a film that claims that ID creationists are treated unfairly by mainstream science is delicious enough but it is hardly the best part. I won’t spoil the punch line, go to Pharyngula and read all about it.
Update: P. Z. has some additional information about what happened in the Expulsion from Expelled incident.
It takes a special sort of stupid to bounce a guy who you feature in the film from an advance screening.
If you are going for that sort of thing, though, it helps to at least be competently consistent in your misfiring-pair-of-neurons madness, and bounce the other, more famous guy, too. They denied access to PZ, but let Richard Dawkins right on in.
I’m hoping Dawkins will do a guest blog post at Pharyngula on this.
Yeah, this is classic stuff. It’s things like this that make me think that if there is a god, he’s an evolutionist.
Well, the producers of that movie seem to have an abundance of that “special sort of stupid.”
