Over at Post-Darwinist, Denyse O’Leary is quoting Expelled producer Mark Mathis as admitting that he:
…banned pz because I want him to pay to see it. Nothing more.
Nothing about being uninvited, or sneaking in, or gate-crashing, but apparently the right hand of O’Leary didn’t bother to let the left hand of DaveScot know because over on Uncommon Descent DaveScot graces us with yet another round of bleating about Myers and Dawkins being uninvited gate-crashers.
DaveScot: Richard Dawkins and PZ Myers are running around saying they weren’t “gate crashers” at a pre-screening of “Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed”. But that’s exactly what they were.
Make up your minds people.
Of course DaveScot goes on at length weaving an intricate delusional fantasy about how Myers and Dawkins were somehow illicitly trespassing at the Expelled screening:

The sticking point is that Myers was never invited. Myers RSVP’d to an invitation he never received. He fooled the host by gaming the invitation/response system employed.
Huh, Dave, it’s a web-page, a public web-page (you can find it by searching Google for “expelled” and “events”). No password protection or anything, in fact you just linked to part of it right there (go ahead everybody click on it) and the invitation is on the parent page which says:
Motive Entertainment is proud to present THE EXPELLED TOUR which launches on November 26th to promote the upcoming release of EXPELLED: No Intelligence Allowed. Tour locations are being added every day! You and your community are invited to attend FREE of charge! CLICK HERE to RSVP now at a location near you!
The boldface type where it says “you and your community are invited”, is in the original folks. When you follow RSVP link Dave gives you get to a page that says “Welcome. Please choose a location and time below” and then there are links titled “RSVP” next to locations, dates, and times of screenings. And if you click on one of the RSVP links it gives you an online form to fill out asking for your name, address, e-mail, and phone number (this is significant).
DaveScot blathers on:
DaveScot: The host wasn’t checking RSVPs against a list of invitations sent out but rather just assumed that any RSVP received was in response to an invitation sent out.
Now let’s stop and think about this for a second. DaveScot claims (without presenting any evidence) that there were invitations sent out and that the web site is meant to allow those invited to RSVP. But if this is the case then why does the RSVP form ask for your name, address, e-mail, and phone number? Exactly how did the invitees receive their invitations? Telepathy?
DaveScot: One could possibly say this was due to Myers’ ignorance of what RSVP means but he seems to be “As Smart as a 5th Grader” so that’s not a credible excuse. The only other alternative is Myers’ purposely and knowingly deceived the host which of course means Myers is dishonest. THAT is credible.
There is another possibility Dave, that you are making this shit up as you go. Why don’t you go argue with Mathis about this? He seems to have finally told the truth about the incident; he did it because he’s petty.
DaveScot: One might blame how this was allowed to happen on the naivety of the producers in trusting that RSVPs would be received only from invited guests. Honest people don’t tend to think like thieves so it might not have occurred to them that RSVPs would be received under false pretenses. But that still doesn’t excuse Myers’ dishonesty.
Ah, here we go again. Myers is now not just a uninvited, sneaking, skulking gate-crasher, he’s a thieving lier. Soon they’ll be implying that he’s a squid molester (actually P. Z. might cop to that). Btw, where exactly is this mythical telepathic invitation list Dave? You’ll forgive me if I don’t simply take your word for its existence.
DaveScot: Richard Dawkins isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but even so it’s hard to believe he believed that Myers was an invited guest but the possibility exists that Myers duped him into believing he was a legitimate participant in the pre-screening so I’ll reserve judgement on Dawkins for the nonce in this one case.
You know, having DaveScot impugn the intelligence of Richard Dawkins and pitying him for his supposed gullibility almost mocks itself. Moving on…
DaveScot: The question remains as to why Myers was singled out of a crowd waiting to get in when a more notorious and easily recognized skunk at the garden party (Dawkins) was not.
No it doesn’t Dave, read Denyse’s post.
DaveScot: I’d guess it’s because Myers was vigorously exercising his anti-religious potty mouth loud enough to offend other guests and someone complained while the other members in Myers’ anti-Christ crusader party were exercising a modicum of discretion.

If Springer’s allegations were true, it wouldn’t lessen wrongness in having PZ somehow “get around” something, but it should be noted that Springer himself has no qualms about posting comments at sites he’s been banned from.

Even if PZ wasn’t on some imaginary “invited” list, they still decided to throw him out of the theater. They didn’t have to. In fact, Luke 6:27-36 implies they should have done exactly the opposite.
Even if we grant their ridiculous scenario, the Expelled producers are still rude hypocrites.

That is most interesting. He was banned at the Panda’s Thumb for impersonating me in the comments section and writing very aggressive things in my name. This occurred after he had inexplicably ‘attacked’ me in the comments section, despite he and I never having exchanged pleasantries prior.
When he was called on it, he claimed that he wasn’t really impersonating ME, he was impersonating a guy he used to work with… who just happened to have the same name as me… What a coincidence, eh?
Real men apparently suck their stones up into their pelvis when caught doing something stupid and try to weasel their way out of it by concocting some idiotic story.

Lol, I usually tend to ignore anything religious people say anyway. It seems to be the best way to keep away from the delusional garbage they spout. It’s sad how much they hate P.Z. and Dawkins. I love those two a lot. They’ve got much more etiquette than all of the IDers combined.

I had never even heard about this movie until people started blogging about it. Looks like a waste of time from the preview, but I’d have to say that anyone who doesn’t like the film should just not say anything about it. It will disappear. Nobody cares about America’s Most Smartest Creationist. Let him go back to hosting third rate reality TV shows rather than giving him more audience by blogging about his movie.

I think you’ve made a mistake. You’ve got two different URLs there. The first one, that Uncommon Descent says is the one Myers used, goes to:
http://rsvp.getexpelled.com/events/events/list
The second one, which is linked to from the parent page, goes to:
http://rsvp.getexpelled.com/events/movies/expelled
A Google search on the second one, the one linked to from the parent page, turns up in Google. A Google search on the first one gets no hits.
The question now is, how did Myers get a hold of the first URL?

That URL redirects to the hidden (?) URL that Uncommon Descent says that Myers used, i.e.

arensb: Are you sure it was a link to http://rsvp.getexpelled.com/events/events/list and not the other one? The two pages look very similar, and the URLs are similar too. It’s easy to get them mixed up.

arensb: Ah hah. Now I’ve read your blog post over at your own blog, it clearly was the same one. Well, I eagerly await someone else figuring this all out.
Though it occurs to me, even if it is true that Myers got to an RSVP website that he wasn’t meant to, that doesn’t really change the fact that he was specifically barred from the screening, does it? I mean, Mathis admitted as much early on. All this RSVP issue does is distract from the real issue at hand by throwing mud at Myers, which is kinda rude considering that he may well have found the site through Google, got told about it by a friend, truncated the URL and got redirected there by accident, or accessed it in any other number of ways that don’t involve him being an intentionally devious and malicious such-and-such.

OK, I’m making some progress in sorting this out but for now let me say this; I noticed that the page DaveScot gave the link for was somewhat different than that linked to on the parent page (though both have the same header graphic that say “Screenings coming to a city near you”) but wasn’t sure of the relationships. Part of the confusion is that there are one or two other similar pages I have found. Hopefully my follow-up will make this all clear.

It’s quite common for webmasters to publish a simple link that points to a more complex link which fits into their file structure. Don’t sweat it. It’s pretty clear that PZ clicked on the link on Expelled-the-movie’s Web site and registered for a screening near him, and also that the spiteful associate producer decided to “surprise” him by turning him away at the door.
